This website is for Authorized Independent Representatives only.

The process is:

You introduce the idea of a Living Trust to a client - "Do you have a Living Trust?"

  1. Send a link to www.heritagelivingtrust.com & have the client watch the video.
  2. No internet? Have them listen to a toll-free presentation 866-927-8552.
  3. Send them a flyer or brochure.

If the client is interested after reviewing the information, let them know the price of the Trust and if they are qualified (want to do business and can afford the Trust), you have options:

  1. Meet with them, collect the application and payment, and mail them to the Heritage P.O. Box found on page one of the Trust application.
  2. If the client is not local, or too busy to meet with you, email the client an application and a credit card authorization form.

The client is responsible for the fees they’ll incur getting their Trust Notarized, and their deeds recorded with their county recorder. Two deeds are included in the HLT price, each additional deed prepared by HLT will cost $25 each.

The Paperwork Flow:

  1. The Trust application and payment are submitted. Do not wait for a complete Asset Organizer. The Asset Organizer is not needed until much later.
  2. Once the application and payment is received someone from the HLT staff will call your client to thank them for the business, answer their questions and verify the information on the application.
  3. Within 45 days of verifying the application the Trust is shipped direct to the client.
  4. The client receives a call and a series of emails from HLT to assist them in getting their Trust executed.
  5. Once the client executes his Trust, he sends HLT a form stating that his Trust has been executed.
  6. After HLT receives this form from the client, HLT then forwards the client his Deeds and Funding letters. The Deeds and Funding letters are generated by the information in the Asset Organizer.

On your appointment you’ll want to have:

  • The List of Trust Types and Prices - Have the client review and choose his Trust.
  • Trust Applications
  • Credit Card Authorization Form
  • Asset Organizers
  • Special Needs Provision Form
  • ILIT Applications
  • Land Trust Applications

All of the above forms are available on the Trust Applications tab of this website.

Before you leave the client’s home, make sure you leave them an unexecuted copy of each form they signed.

When you get back to your office, make 2 copies of each completed form: mail one copy to your client, keep the other copy for yourself.

Appointment Expectations

When you meet with a qualified prospect, that is a person that has already visited the Heritage website or your webpage, knows the price of the HLT, and has expressed a need for a Trust, you are a consultant and the sale is almost assured. When you meet with someone that is not qualified: doesn’t know anything about HLT, the price of the Trust, and hasn’t expressed a need, you are a salesman, and you have to sell. We recommend you meet with qualified prospects and be a consultant.

The purpose of the appointment is to help gather information to help clients that want a Living Trust. You accomplish this by completing the Trust application, the Asset Organizer Disclaimer, and receiving a check or credit card. Checks are payable to “Heritage” Leave your client a copy of each form they signed before you leave the appointment.

Chances are, you will not get a completed Asset Organizer from the client at this time. Less than 10% of our applications come in with a completed Asset Organizer. Heritage Living Trust will not send the client his new deeds or funding information until the client has sent back a signed form stating that his Trust has been executed.

Client Expectations

When you make the sale, let your client know to expect their HLT in about 6 weeks. If you do not tell them, don’t be surprised when they call you a week later asking where their Trust is.

Common Sense

If your parents were elderly, wouldn’t you want to be involved in helping them with important financial decisions? Of course you would. We recommend that if you are meeting with a elderly person or couple, ask them if they’d like to have someone there when you meet.
